Yes this happened to me after doing a 10 minute warm up with the Sterzo steering on, I then joined my WKG Race which had the steering disabled and the same thing happened to me I was out of the draft and out of the bunch. This is my plan for working with two Bluetooth connections. A new option appears to the side of the usual pairing screen, where you’ll pair up the steering device. I’m definitely waiting for the second generation of these steering blocks… It seems cool, but I’m not really interested unless the cost is about half of what it is, and these issues are worked out. Did not even know it existed until the Sterzo came out. It’s the same on an IRL bike, but in that case the back end turns out slightly to counter that, but with the rear wheel locked into a trainer that obviously can’t happen. Because I can’t stand this proprietary BS any more. Because they’re probably reasonably close, the Sterzo is likely designed around an industry average 1 to 2 distance, so the front rotation point should remain reasonably stable once a bike’s on it. Seems cool, but unlikely to work with the Kickr Climb. Which doesn’t mean the future of Zwift is all steering. Not trying to be snarky, just want to know if this really has basis in reality. Pre-ordered immediately. I hate how unannounced and out of the blue steering came along in Zwift. So for someone to use it with GTBikeV they’d have to either get an agreement sorted with Elite, or, sniff the packets and figure it out old-school style. Zwift says they also want to know if people find any ‘gaps’ in the road where the bumpers don’t quite work. That’s the “smart” bit. It wasn’t a complete dropout but the HR just stopped updating until I unpaired / repaired it. Zwift told me to use all ANT or all BLE but not to combine them as it can cause dropouts. I know some things (for 4iiii?) I could see it being impactful when in a smaller group or off the front solo, but within the blob I’m not sure it will really make a diff. But hopefully they will make it both in later gen. I do not like this at ALL for racing. In any event, on the Sterzo Smart you’ve got a small LED light that flashes blue and green, indicating it’s awake and paired: And the manual reminds you which way to orient the Sterzo. As Eric described, you steer your avatar into one of the invisible “slots” on the road (I actually think there are only 5) and when you let the Sterzo spring back to the center position, your avatar stays in that slot until you steer it into a different slot. I mix ANT+ and BLE all the time… typically I connect to my controllable trainer and HR via ANT, and my power meter and Sterzo via BLE. The reviews generally take a lot of hours to put together, so it’s a fair bit of work (and labor of love). This puts Tron riders at a bit of a disadvantage when steering in races. For me, the real game changer for racing is the combination of veering *and* collision avoidance – the latter being something that been wanting since beta.
